Liposuction is an elective cosmetic procedure used to surgically sculpt specific areas of your body, providing immediate improvement in the problem areas of your body which may have proven to be resistant to diet and exercise. Liposuction successfully removes excess fatty tissue from problem areas such as:
- Upper and lower abdomen
- Flanks (sides)
- Lower back
- Bra strap area
- Upper arms
- Face (jowls)
Liposuction is not a weight loss method or treatment for obesity, which is why we offer bioidentical hormone replacement therapy (BHRT) to those who are struggling to meet their goal weight. One major advantage to using hormone replacement therapy in conjunction with liposuction is longer-lasting results. We also offer metabolic coaching with a chef who is passionate about helping you meet weight goals and maintain your desired weight. We understand that cosmetic surgery is a big commitment and we make every effort to give all of our patients their desired results and help maintain those results for as long as possible.
Frequently Asked Questions
How soon will I see results after liposuction?
There will be some minimal swelling and bruising following surgery. Once the swelling goes down, you will start noticing an improvement in the shape and contour of the area.
How soon will I be able to return to work?
Each patient recovers at a different rate and the amount of time each patient requires off work depends upon the level of activity at his or her job. The typical patient is able to return to a desk job within 3-5 days, if not sooner. A patient whose job requires a lot of lifting and physical labor will need additional time off work.
Will I need a driver to and from my procedure?
Because liposuction requires some amount of sedation, though you will not be under general anesthesia, you will need someone to drive you home and stay with you for approximately 24 hours after your procedure.
