The simple answer is yes! To achieve your most natural-looking results, Botox and dermal fillers work nicely together because each relies on different principles to tackle aging symptoms in different ways. Botox works to target forehead wrinkles, frown lines, and even crow’s feet. Dermal fillers add volume to facial areas where folds and wrinkles have appeared. Together they can help balance your face with harmonious results.

The benefit of the combination of Botox and dermal fillers is that it addresses multiple areas of the face simultaneously. The combination will prolong the results of treatment and improve expression lines. The purpose is that the Botox will relax the muscle and the dermal filler will less likely break down quicker. This can completely rejuvenate your face and restore a youthful look.

If you have both forehead lines and facial folds and want to achieve the most natural-looking results, then you should consider getting both Botox and dermal fillers at the same time. With each treatment using a different formula to improve the appearance of facial wrinkles, they are safe to combine in the same treatment session. Combining the two is one of the best ways to make major improvements to your skin and overall appearance.

To find out if a Botox and dermal filler combination is right for you, schedule a consultation with our experienced providers! Together, you and our providers can discuss your goals in regards to the results you wish to achieve. They will give you their professional recommendation to determine if you can achieve your goals with Botox, dermal fillers, or both.

A chemical peel is a skin-resurfacing procedure. It is done by applying a chemical solution to the skin to remove the top layers. In its place, a smoother layer of skin grows back. The type of chemical peel you have done will depend on the issues you’re trying to address with the procedure.

Germantown Aesthetics offers several types of facials and peels in order to treat a variety of skin issues for all different skin types. As with all of our procedures, each of our facials and peels will be customized based on your individual needs and concerns. At Germantown Aesthetics we offer VI and Croton Peels.

What is a VI Peel?

A VI Peel is a medium-depth chemical peel that penetrates your top layer of skin, called the epidermis, reaching into the dermis underneath. A VI Peel improves the tone, texture, and clarity of the skin, which can reduce and even eliminate age spots and melasma. This type of peel is gentle enough to be used on all skin types and tones. After having a VI Peel, your skin will start to peel about three days later.

What is a Croton Peel?

A Croton Peel, also known as Phenol Peel, penetrates into the deeper layers of the skin, addressing textural changes. A Croton Peel tightens the skin and improves the appearance of age spots and pigmentation problems. It also treats wrinkles around the mouth, forehead furrows, and crow’s feet. After the Croton Peel, the skin gradually darkens and tightens over the next three days and begins to peel during the first week to ten days. Redness can be expected, sometimes swelling and occasionally crusting until the skin has fully peeled. After the skin has fully peeled, there will be some residual redness which may last a little longer but is easily covered up with mineral makeup.

If you are interested in learning more about chemical peels or which procedure would best meet your needs, contact Germantown Aesthetics today!

Fractional CO2 skin resurfacing is a procedure that uses carbon dioxide (CO2) and a skin surface removing laser. Germantown Aesthetics is the only practice and training center in West Tennessee that offers the MiXto SX® Micro Fractional Laser Treatment, commonly referred to as Fractional CO2. Laser skin resurfacing reduces the appearance of acne scars, wrinkles and fine lines, sun damage, loose skin, and uneven texture and pigmentation.

Fractional CO2 skin resurfacing is a revolutionary laser treatment that requires much less downtime and is less aggressive than older laser resurfacing systems, but provides better results. While Fractional CO2 is not technically considered a surgical procedure as no incisions are made, anesthesia is still required to ensure patient comfort and safety.

What To Expect from Fractional Laser Treatment

Knowing what to expect in the first few days after your procedure can prepare you and address any concerns you may have. Immediately after your treatment, your face will likely feel sunburned. The next two days, your skin will appear almost tanned and will likely be swollen. During days three and four post-treatment, your skin will begin peeling and swelling will begin to subside.

To maximize your results, you will be provided with specific post-treatment instructions and a kit of products that will not only reduce swelling but also help your body rebuild healthy skin for a younger appearance and even complexion. We encourage each patient to follow a customized skincare regimen under the direction of our medical aesthetician and return in two to three weeks for an oxygen facial. Contact us to schedule a consultation today!

Masseter Hypertrophy Treatment

Are you a gum chewer, jaw clencher, or do you grind your teeth? Has this caused masseter hypertrophy (enlargement of the jaw muscle)? If you answered yes to any of these, Botox is your friend! When Botox is injected into your masseter (jaw muscle), the Botox blocks the nerve that sends signals to the muscles and the muscles become relaxed. Botox in your masseter can help with many things, but the most common are:

  • to slim down a square, prominent jaw
  • to manage involuntary teeth grinding (bruxism)
  • to reduce potential pain from teeth grinding.

Treatment in your jaw muscle for masseter hypertrophy is quick and easy with Botox. It is a walk-in procedure that doesn’t require any preparation by the patient. The first step is a consultation with one of our injectors where they will examine and map out your jawline. While mapping out the Botox for your masseter, our injector will go over any other areas you may be concerned about. After the map is done on your face, our injector will clean your face and inject Botox between your cheekbone and your lower jawbone on both sides. You can resume your regular daily activities right after the procedure.

After the treatment, you may experience mild swelling, bruising, redness, and pain at the injection site; however, these side effects resolve on their own within a week or two after the treatment.

Botox for Masseter Hypertrophy

From a Botox Masseter Treatment you can expect the injections will reduce the masseter activity and, consequently, the muscles’ size. After the treatment, you may experience a slimmer jaw, reduced teeth grinding, and reduced pain from overactive jaw muscles. You will see improvement within one week of the procedure.

Botox in the masseter can last three to six months, but to prolong effectiveness it is recommended to stay consistent with treatments three to six months apart. For a great solution for overactive masseters (masseter hypertrophy) that may cause pain and an unpleasantly wide jawline, Botox is the answer for you!

As women get older, problems such as a lowered sex drive, vaginal dryness, or pain during intercourse grow more common. While these issues can be embarrassing to talk about, it’s important to address them to maintain sexual wellness.

At Germantown Aesthetics in Memphis, we want you to know that you don’t have to live with these problems forever. We’re proud to offer a state-of-the-art treatment known as Vaginal Rejuvenation. Also called laser vaginal-rejuvenation, Vaginal Rejuvenation procedures restore youth and moisture to your most sensitive tissues. Keep reading to learn more about how Vaginal Rejuvenation improves sexual wellness as well as the incredible benefits it offers, then contact us to schedule a consultation.

What Is Vaginal Rejuvenation?

You may be surprised to learn that you can restore sexual function with cosmetic procedures, but that’s exactly what Vaginal Rejuvenation does. This rejuvenation treatment is a pain-free, non-invasive procedure that uses heated lasers to stimulate collagen and blood supply in the vagina. There is minimal downtime associated, too, though we recommend waiting at least a week before resuming an active sex life. Vaginal Rejuvenation works to improve the thickness and elasticity of vaginal wall tissues, allowing women to find relief from dryness, pain, and low libido.

The Benefits of Laser Vaginal Rejuvenation

Laser vaginal-rejuvenation, or Vaginal Rejuvenation, offers incredible benefits to help women improve their sexual wellness. When you come to Germantown Aesthetics for this treatment, you’ll notice an increase in your sexual confidence and a more fulfilling sex life. The following are some other attractive benefits offered by Vaginal Rejuvenation.

Alleviates Discomfort and Incontinence

Over time, women are more susceptible to problems such as vaginal discomfort and urinary incontinence due to weakened pelvic muscles. However, Vaginal Rejuvenation can solve this problem by restoring a youthful thickness to these muscles and increasing their strength. As a result, bladder leakage and discomfort will become a thing of the past.

Increased Vaginal Lubrication

A decrease in vaginal lubrication can become a significant problem for women with active sex lives and lead to embarrassment. With less moisture, intercourse becomes unbearably painful. Fortunately, laser vaginal-rejuvenation can correct this by restoring youthful moisture to the vaginal tissues.

Stimulates Natural Collagen

Vaginal atrophy is the thinning of the vaginal walls, which is painful and can result in issues such as dryness or incontinence. Through the use of Vaginal Rejuvenation procedures, however, Germantown Aesthetics can correct it. This procedure stimulates natural collagen production in the vaginal tissues, allowing them to thicken to a healthy state.

Improved Sexual Satisfaction

When a woman is experiencing vaginal pain, dryness, or inflammation, it’s difficult to enjoy an active sex life. Laser vaginal-rejuvenation seeks to change this! By solving these problems, intercourse becomes much better and more fulfilling. In addition, Vaginal Rejuvenation can improve vaginal tightness, which is yet another benefit.

Is Vaginal Rejuvenation Right for You?

Our medical professionals at Germantown Aesthetics recommend Vaginal Rejuvenation procedures to women who are dealing with problems such as incontinence and vaginal dryness or pain. This treatment is completely safe, and within a week, patients are ready to resume intercourse more confidently and without issue. Laser vaginal-rejuvenation is right for you if:

  • You experience pain or dryness during intercourse.
  • You lost your sexual confidence due to menopause.
  • You have an unexplained low libido.
  • You notice vaginal problems due to age or childbirth.

If you’re experiencing vaginal problems such as dryness or incontinence, you’re not alone. These issues are common, especially if you’ve given birth or are post-menopause. Fortunately, the staff at Germantown Aesthetics in Memphis, TN, is here to help you improve your sexual wellness and find the confidence you’ve been missing. Contact us today to learn more about Vaginal Rejuvenation or to schedule your consultation.

Sugar Thread Lifts are meant to be a temporary alternative to a subtle face lift. To get the best results, these lifting threads are meant to lift the brows, mid-face, jaws, and neck. This non-surgical face lift helps give the patient a nice, lifted look.

While originally created for use in pediatric hearts, Sugar Thread Lifts have been successfully used to lift the skin. These lifting threads are renowned for their ability to stimulate elastic collagen synthesis, creating collagen as they dissolve, which lasts for a few years. Patients will see the direct results of a Sugar Thread Lift for six to twelve months. While this procedure can be done alone, if Sugar Thread Lifts are done with dermal fillers, these solutions require re-treatment throughout the year.

A Sugar Thread Lifts procedure has a one to five day recovery period. The Lift threads have little bidirectional barbs on them that generate more lift than smooth Sugar Threads. Lifting threads will improve the tone, structure, and look of the skin.

Sugar Threads are an aesthetic product placed under the skin to stimulate collagen production and reduce the appearance of facial and neck lines due to the effects of aging. Sugar Threads have a rejuvenation effect greater than one year, which means you will see results for about 12 months. A 90-day application after the first treatment is recommended to receive the best results. Sugar Threads go along with laser treatments or fillers for a multi-modality aesthetic enhancement.

Recovery time from having a Sugar Threads procedure is typically one day. Threads are placed in static, deep forehead and neck lines. These threads create a hashtag pattern which helps stimulate collagen production. It will take about three to six months to see the full results.

Sugar Threads are great for soft tissue lifting and an immediate lift is often noticed. Sugar Threads can help prevent skin laxity and maintain your skin’s firmness and elasticity. Sugar Threads will help with heavy nasolabial folds, deepened smile lines, jowls, and sunken cheeks.

Sugar Threads are short-term, smooth, dissolvable and “floating” in the skin (not attached). They come with almost zero downtime and very few negative side effects. Sugar Threads sit deep within the dermis and stimulate collagen and elastin production offering great benefits without the risks that are associated with traditional threaded sutures.

Hyaluronic Acid, otherwise known as HA Filler, is found in the connective tissues of the body. When used as a facial injectable for aesthetic purposes, HA helps with volume replacement, resulting in the enhancement of the cheeks, lips, and overall facial balance. HA also improves mild to moderate wrinkles depending on how much filler one uses.

HA filler can be used anywhere on the face, including on the lips and even the nose. For post injection comfort it is pre-mixed with lidocaine, a mild numbing agent.

Results from HA filler will last about nine to twelve months, depending on how each individual metabolism handles it. While results vary, patients will enjoy a refreshed, rejuvenated look.

Botox beautiful womanBotox is one of the top facial injectables that women and men of all ages are choosing to improve their appearance by reducing the signs of aging. It is a neuromodulator that helps reduce and soften wrinkles, relaxing the muscles in the face. Patients as young as 20 years old start treatments between the eyes to help prevent frown lines from forming.

Many patients receive Botox treatments to prevent or soften the appearance of forehead wrinkles. It is recommended that patients stay consistent with their treatment to stop the contraction between the muscles. Botox can also help patients who grind their teeth by being administered in the masseter (jaw muscle) for a therapeutic effect

Botox can last up to three months, however, a patient’s individual metabolism plays a role in the length of time results are visible. Many patients feel more youthful after treatment, reporting tighter skin and that their eyes are able to open wider. Most patients feel an overall smoothness in their skin.
