Collagen Induction Therapy (Microchanneling) in Memphis and Germantown
Collagen Induction Therapy (CIT), also known as microchanneling or derma-rolling, is a cosmetic procedure which is minimally invasive with no downtime. CIT helps the skin to produce collagen, which produces firmer, healthier, younger-looking skin.
Although microchanneling techniques are being embraced across the country as a new effective technology, at Germantown Aesthetics we have paired up a mechanical and laser energy combination for a more robust result with similar downtime. Our layered CIT + approach allows for more profound results with a lesser number of treatments than traditional CIT and is effective for improving acne scars, pore size, and overall skin tone and texture. Our aesthetician says: “Microdermabrasion is so 90s”.
What are the benefits of Collagen Induction Therapy?
- Minimizes pore size
- Evens skin tone and texture
- Increases collagen production

- Can be used on any skin type
- Can be used not only for the facial area but on most areas of the body
- Allows for much greater absorption of topical skincare products (up to 80%)
Frequently Asked Questions
How many treatments will I need?
To achieve optimal results with traditional microchanneling, we recommend a commitment of 6 treatments over a 6 month period.
Our CIT + approach using a combination of microchanneling and light laser skin resurfacing allows you to achieve the same, if not better, results in only 3 treatments!
How much downtime is involved with CIT/Microchanneling?
Immediately after your traditional microchanneling treatment your skin may look and feel slightly sunburned, which should subside within 24 hours.
Because CIT + is a more robust approach that involves a light laser treatment as well, there is increased downtime associated with a CIT + treatment. Your skin will likely appear sunburned for a few days, but you can return to work and normal activities immediately.
What products are recommended in conjunction with Collagen Induction Therapy?
Our medical aesthetician will customize a skincare regimen for you based upon your individual skin type and desired results.
